Protecting Our Citrus: Asian Citrus Psyllid & Huanglongbing Emergency Treatment Program.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has issued an Asian Citrus Psyllid/Huanglongbing Proclamation of Emergency Program 2024-01, identifying Treatment Area Map 22, which includes Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, San Antonio Heights, and Upland in San Bernardino County as of February 19, 2025.

Huanglongbing (HLB), also known as citrus greening disease, is a devastating threat to our local citrus trees. Spread by the Asian citrus psyllid, HLB is fatal to citrus plants and has no known cure. To prevent its spread, the CDFA has designated treatment areas where pest control measures will be implemented

What You Need to Know:

Check the Treatment Map: The latest maps and documents are available on the CDFA website: CDFA ACP/HLB Treatment Maps

Stay Vigilant: If you notice signs of the Asian citrus psyllid or HLB in your trees, report it immediately.

Contact the Pest Hotline: If you have questions or concerns about the emergency treatment program, call 1-800-491-1899.

This emergency action is necessary to protect California’s citrus industry and preserve the health of our trees in Upland and surrounding communities. I encourage all residents to stay informed and proactive in the fight against this serious agricultural threat.
