Community Workshop
Fire Prevention and Protection

Thank you to everyone who attended our Community Wildfire Preparedness Workshop this evening.
It was encouraging to see so many residents take time out of their schedules to learn more about protecting their homes, families, and neighborhoods from wildfire threats. Community preparedness is one of the most effective tools we have to improve public safety.
A special thank you to Kyle from San Bernardino County Fire for his informative presentation on wildfire protection, defensible space, firescaping, and home hardening strategies that residents can implement to reduce wildfire risk.
I would also like to thank Melissa from Southern California Edison for providing valuable information about SCE's wildfire mitigation efforts, utility infrastructure, customer assistance programs, and Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events. Her presentation helped residents better understand what to expect during high fire danger conditions and the resources available to them.
I am grateful for the partnership of San Bernardino County Fire and Southern California Edison and for their commitment to educating our community.
Together, through preparation, education, and community involvement, we can help make Upland safer and more resilient.
Thank you again to everyone who attended.
