The City Council approved the Plans and Specifications for the Mulberry Avenue Reconstruction and Water Main Replacement Project and authorized a contract change order with Gentry Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $1,398,418, along with a construction contingency of $301,582, for a total project authorization of $1,700,000. The project will deliver a comprehensive upgrade along Mulberry Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Pine Street, including installation of a new water pipeline, service laterals, and fire hydrants, full roadway reconstruction, and replacement of sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and traffic markings. By utilizing the contractor already mobilized on the adjacent Foothill Boulevard project, the City is able to accelerate construction, reduce costs, and improve efficiency without impacting the existing project timeline. The project was also determined to be categorically exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act, as it involves the repair and maintenance of existing facilities with no expansion of use.
