Exciting Opportunities for Seniors: Free Classes & Workshops in Upland!
The City of Upland is proud to support programs that enhance the health, wellness, and lifelong learning of our senior community. We’re excited to share several free opportunities available in the coming months, from Tai Chi to educational workshops and hands-on classes. Take advantage of these wonderful resources to stay active, informed, and engaged! Be sure to register early and spread the word to friends and family who may benefit from these free programs.
8-Week Tai Chi Series for Seniors
Improve your balance, flexibility, and overall well-being through the art of Tai Chi. This ancient practice involves slow, controlled movements designed to enhance both physical and mental health.
• When: Tuesdays, March 4 – April 22
• Time: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
• Where: Local community center (location provided upon registration)
• Pre-registration is required. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to engage in a peaceful yet effective exercise!
Alzheimer’s Association Free Workshops
If you or a loved one are experiencing memory loss, these workshops provide valuable information and resources to navigate the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Each session is free and open to the public.
• Saturday, April 19 – Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia (10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
• Saturday, May 17 – Having Dementia Conversations (10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
• Saturday, June 21 – Supporting Independence (10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
Free Senior Classes at Mt. San Antonio College
Mt. SAC offers a range of free weekly classes for seniors, providing opportunities to learn new skills and engage in creative activities. Registration is simple—just attend the first class and sign up with the instructor.
• Sewing & Design: Mondays, Feb. 24 – June 16 @ 3:30 p.m.
• Artisan Quilting: Wednesdays, Feb. 23 – June 6 @ 3:30 p.m.
• PowerPoint Basics: Thursday, April 17 @ 9:00 a.m.
• Home & Gardening: Saturdays, March 1 – June 21 @ 9:30 a.m.
