Upland Sister Cities Association newest dedication
Association dedicates second bench on Euclid Ave.

Earlier today, the Upland Sister Cities Association held a special dedication ceremony at Sister City Square, located at the corner of Euclid Avenue and 14th Street. The occasion marked the unveiling of the Association’s second bench and a new commemorative plaque—a heartfelt tribute to the individuals whose dedication and service have helped shape the success of Upland’s Sister Cities program.
The new plaque reads:
“In Honor of Their Exceptional Service”
Zella Stone, Harvey Stone, Ian & Sarah Richardson, June & Dean Love, Carol Zahniser, Sharon & Paul Christensen, Lillian & Bob Kunz, Christine Christensen Shaurette
These names represent decades of leadership, hospitality, and tireless volunteerism—individuals who opened their hearts and homes to visitors from around the world, and who built bridges of friendship that still stand strong today.
Residents, community leaders, and Sister Cities representatives gathered to reflect on the legacy of these dedicated individuals and to celebrate the values of international friendship, cultural exchange, and civic diplomacy
The newly dedicated bench complements the existing one at Sister City Square, offering a peaceful space for residents and visitors to pause and appreciate the global connections that enrich our local community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring this remarkable group and celebrating the ongoing mission of the Upland Sister Cities Association.
