Weekly Police Department Update
Summary of notable Police Department actions for the week of March 20th 2025


Police Department:
Code Enforcement continued working on a project to get compliance from businesses that have unpermitted banners. So far, Code Enforcement found 53 businesses had illegal banners. 22 of these businesses have come into compliance after Code Enforcement contact. .
This week, the Impact Team conducted extra patrol of the 10 freeway between Euclid Avenue and Mountain Avenue. Two people were cited for possessing shopping carts outside the business premises and one subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. An Impact Officer conducted a traffic stop on a bicyclist in the 1500 block of W. 7th Street. The subject was arrested for a warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On March 14, officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of S. Mountain Avenue in regards to a male subject vandalizing the walls of the outside of the business. Officers arrived and quickly located the suspect, but he took off running. Officers were able to catch the suspect after a short foot pursuit. The suspect was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for vandalism, resisting arrest, and a warrant.
On March 15, officers responded to Mountain Ave and the 210-freeway overpass for an unconscious male slumped over the wheel in his car. Officers contacted the male and his passenger and found them to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested for possession charges and the passenger was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
On March 16, officers were dispatched to a traffic collision on Euclid Ave. and the Pacific Electric Trail. When officers arrived, they found a van had collided into a tree. The driver was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. He had his girlfriend and two small children in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The suspect was booked at the jail for DUI, and felony child endangerment. No one was injured in the crash.
On March 17, Team 1 Cover Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill Blvd reference a male who appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and threatening a business owner. Officers arrived on scene and arrested the male, who had an extensive criminal history for grand theft and burglary.
On March 18, Team 1 Cover Officers assisted on a traffic collision that occurred in front of Dick Sporting Goods. During the investigation, we discovered the occupants were in possession of half an ounce of methamphetamine with empty plastic baggies, digital scale, and $233 in cash. In addition, an occupant had a concealed fixed blade knife hidden under his rear waistband. The driver and passenger were arrested for multiple felony charges.
On March 18, officers stopped a vehicle near Campus Ave and 8th Street for traffic violations. After conducting a DUI investigation and learning the driver was over twice the legal limit, he was arrested and booked for DUI.
On March 18, officers stopped vehicles for traffic violations. The driver, who is on activate parole, was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe and was arrested.
On 3/19/25 around 7pm, officers responded to the Loma Linda hospital reference a child abuse investigation. Officers learned a 3-year-old female suffered broken bones and bruising at the hands of her father and stepmother. Both were arrested for felony child abuse.
On March 19, Team 1 Cover Officers located a stolen vehicle in the area of Campus Avenue and Arrow Highway. Two occupants attempted to flee from the stolen vehicle, but they were both quickly taken into custody for multiple felony charges.
On March 19, Team 1 Cover Officers responded to Upland Junior High School reference for a 13-year-old juvenile who had just been choked by another parent. The suspect fled the school before officers arrived. However, they identified the suspect and proceeded to her apartment where she was subsequently arrested for felony child abuse.
On March 19, Team 1 Cover Officers, motor officers, and PSTs responded to a large structure fire at a residence located in the 1300 block of W. 11th Street. We ensured that all the residents were evacuated and accounted for while also handling traffic and crowd issues as a result of the large fire.
